AAPSU to file PIL on Tawang shooting

ITANAGAR, May 30: Rejecting the two enquiry committees formed by the state government for May 2 Tawang shooting incident which are yet to submit the reports, All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has decided to file PIL along with Save Mon Region Forum (SMRF) to seek independent enquiry into the incident.
Addressing media persons at Press Club on Monday, AAPSU general secretary Biru Nasi informed that the PIL will be represented by lawyer Colin Gonsalves, who is the director of Human Rights’ Law Network (HRLN).
He informed that AAPSU team along with the lawyer will be visiting Tawang in the first week of June.
“We will be gathering as much testimonies as possible so that we can have a good case,” Biru said adding, “only extending ex-gratia and compensation is not enough.”
“Everybody has the right to express their opposition. It was wrong on the part of the police to shoot,” he lamented.
AAPSU has also condemned Home Minister Kameng Dolo for suspending just the SP while there was a statement from the HM which said that the DC and the OC were also suspended.
“It was just an eyewash. How can we trust a government which cannot stand by its own word?” questioned the GS.
It is pertinent to mention here that 17-year-old Monk Nyima Wangdi from Tawang Monastery and 31-year old Tsering Tempa from Jangda village were killed and several others were injured when Police opened fire on agitating mob who were demanding the immediate release of Lama Lobsang Gyatso, secretary of Save Mon Region Federation (SMRF) from custody at Tawang on May 2.
NES slams Maj, resolves to go ahead with stir on audio clip issue

ITANAGAR, May 30: Nyishi Elite Society (NES) has vehemently criticized PDS contractor Likha Maj for his comment declaring the derogatory remarks made in an audio clip against Nyishi community allegedly by Chief Minister Kalikho Pul as unauthentic.
Maj had lodged a complaint against Pul over alleged audio clip on 15th December 2015, but he withdrew it on May 26 last stating that audio clip was not authentic. Maj had claimed that the statement allegedly made by Kalikho Pul in the audio clip was not authentic.
Quashing Maj’s claim regarding authenticity of audio clip, NES President Bengia Tolum, while addressing the media persons at Press Club here on Monday, stated that Likha Maj was neither authorized to file complaint against Pul nor there was any social interaction before the withdrawal of complaint.
While ridiculing Maj for declaring Pul as Messiah, Tolum further said “Mr Maj is a known opportunist of our community, Pul is not Messiah, money is his messiah”.
“During Tuki’s time he went against Pul, now Pul can give money so Maj calls him messiah. Maj made such comment only to please incumbent Chief Minister like he did it to former CM,” Tolum alleged.
On audio clip allegedly that of Kalikho Pul against Nyishi community, NES came up with full version of the clip that lasts 1 hour and 55 minutes. The society was confident that the voice in audio clip was that of Mr. Pul. NES divulged that in entire audio clip one Vinod Bansal, a Delhi based businessman and one Paresh Barua, a key man names were reflected.
“They should also be arrested for fomenting communal hatred as apparent in the voice record,” NES said.
It further expressed anguish stating that Police are not acting enough to unravel the truth over audio clip. It is alleged that Pul’s derogatory remark against the community was recorded while he was seeking money from a businessman so that he could buy MLAs in his favour. NES claimed that Pul has not only hurt the sentiment of the community but also mortgaged Arunachal Pradesh, as it reflected in audio clip.
Demanding public apology from Chief Minister Kalikho Pul over audio clip, the NES vowed to continue the movement until he (Pul) publicly apologises, but it also assured that if it does wrongly implicate Pul, NES would apologize to him.
Meanwhile, NES East Kameng District Unit Secretary In-charge Mara Kocho informed the media persons that NES Unit will not accept the amount donated by Likha Maj, however, Kocho clarified EKSWCO has liberty to accept and it will not be a problem from NES Unit.
Mechukha ALG back to action
ITANAGAR, May 30: Giving a major boost to the nation’s rapid airlift capability for forward operations and troop deployment, the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Sunday re-activated the most strategic Advanced Landing Grounds (ALG) of Mechukha in West Siang.
Inaugurating the ALG in presence of CCE (NEP), Air Force authorities, Army authorities and local administrative authorities, Air Marshal C Hari Kumar appreciated the NCC Pvt Ltd for successfully completing the project despite all kind of challenges like high-altitude location and difficulties in transportation of materials and machineries.
“People of Mechuka are very co-operative and respectable, they are the main contributors for our achievement this tough task,” said the Air Marshal while acknowledging support and cooperation extended by the people in the successful completion of project.
Speaking on the occasion, VP (ER), NCC Ltd, V S N Raju said that this is a great moment and pride for the NCC Ltd to be a part of constructing infrastructure for nation building.
The ALG had remained non-functional since 2013 following its reconstruction work along with Aalo, Ziro, Tuting, Pasighat, Tezu etc.
Situated in West Siang district along Indo-Sino border, Mechukha was one of the strategic locations during the India-China war in 1962. The McMohan Line is nearly 40km from Mechukha town.
The IAF had started its operations with Dakota and Otter in 1962 in the area and subsequently the Antonov-32, popularly known as AN-32, was operated till October 2013 before the project was started.
Now the ALG has been reconstructed and made broader and longer with lots of modern facilities. The ALG is located at an elevation of around 7000ft from sea level. The project was undertaken by NCC Pvt Ltd.
APDPF cadres arrested at Miao

ITANAGAR, May 30: Two cadres of Arunachal Pradesh Deprived People's Front (APDPF) were apprehended by police and 13 Assam Rifles on May 27 near Miao under Changlang district.
The arrested are identified as Michedy Yobin, (34) and Thami Yobin, (37), both from Gandhigram Village, Vijoynagar Circle, Changlang. According to intelligence sources, the cadres are the main weapon procurers and supplier for the APDPF.
Acting on a tipoff, the police forces nabbed the APDPF cadres from TVS area, 3kms from Miao on the Miao- Vijoynagar road. The team was led by SDPO Miao, John Pada and consisted of 13 Assam Rifles personnel, OC Miao PS, Inspector N. Ete, SI P. K. Kalita, L/SI Bharati Mingki, ASI L. Genden under the close supervision of SP Changlang, Amit Sharma.
Accordingly, a case under section 307/120 (b)/121 (b)/122/123/34 IPC r/w sec.27 Arms Act r/w sec 13 UAP Act has been filed at Miao PS.
With the arrests of the two APDPF cadres, a total of nine cadres of APDPF have been arrested till now since 2015 and one was shot dead by Army.
Pasighat – Pangin road cut off

PASIGHAT, May 30: The road connecting Pasighat to Pangin has been blocked due to massive landslide that occurred last night because of heavy downpour.
The road also connects Pasighat with Upper Siang and West Siang districts.
The landslide occurred 14 mile away from Pasighat, where a driver of an excavator is reported to be injured.
The Puna Hinda Construction Company, which is overseeing the construction work, has announced that the road will be closed for the next three days.
MoU signed for plastic free zones in Ziro
ZIRO, May 30: With a view to promote cleanliness in and around the Lower Subansiri, the district administration signed MoU with the Apatani Youth Association (AYA) in the office chamber of the DC here on Monday.
Lauding the AYA for pioneering in promoting a cleaner Ziro, DC Kemo Lollen extended full support and assured to personally participate in the campaign whenever required. ‘The fragile environmental balance in Ziro valley has to be nurtured for future generation. Also in the wake of the campaign for WHS tag for Apatani Valley, such initiatives are commendable and should be supported by each and everyone,’ he added. He further advised the NGO to maintain proper documentation pertaining to their activities and bank transactions for availing further grant in aids.
AYA president, Taku Chatung informed that 6000 odd students from both private and government schools would become the crusaders for environment protection. These young brains will be able guide and persuade their parents to denounce the use of plastics,’ he said.
A first of its kind in the state, the MoU will bind the signatories to promote plastic free zones. All the Principals of private and government schools will declare their school compounds plastic free zones. These schools will form a Green Club to instil a sense of clean and safe environment under the guidance of a school teacher as a part of its extracurricular activities. The AYA will provide resource persons to deliberate on environmental studies and conduct workshops once in a month. Further, the office of the DDSE would take up follow up activities every three months and ensure compliance from all the schools. (DIPRO)
Mutchu assures to put up demand for construction of Multi-purpose Indoor Stadium before Chief Minister
ITANAGAR, May 30: Parliamentary Secretary (Sports) Mutchu Mithi said that he would put up the long-pending demand of the sports fraternity for construction of a multi-purpose stadium before Chief Minister Kalikho Pul.
Mutchu assured this when a team of Arunachal Pradesh Karate Do Association (AKA) called on him at his office chamber here on Monday and explained the necessity of such facility for overall development of sports.
“I would discuss the matter with the chief minister in details,” Mutchu said, and exuded confidence that the chief minister would do the needful for early materialization of the dream project.
Replying to reimbursement issue raised by AKA general secretary L. Marik, the Parliamentary Secretary informed that the State Government has sanctioned Rs. Five Crore for Sports Authority of Arunachal (SAA) this year for various activities.
It is pertinent to mention here that the SAA has been unable to reimburse many sports associations, including AKA, for ‘megre’ fund allocation by the government.
Mutchu said that the State Government’s Endeavour will be to extend maximum support to the sportspersons from its limited resources. He assured to look into the activities of SAA for overall development of games and sports in the State.
The Parliamentary Secretary interacted with the medal winners of the recently held KAI National Karate Championship in New Delhi and congratulated them for bringing laurels to the state through their splendid performance despite limited facilities.
Secretary (Sports), Dani Salu, who was also present, opined that the proposed project of multipurpose indoor stadium can be placed before NEC through the State Government.
Briefing the Parliamentary Secretary about overall performance of Arunachal Pradesh in various sports in the recent years, the Secretary (Sports) advocated for identification of those sports disciplines, in which the state can do well, and giving more focus on them.
According to him, the state has huge potential in Weightlifting, Boxing, Karate, Archery and Wall Climbing besides few other disciplines.
Earlier, AKA general secretary Marik and vice president Dr. Marli Ete highlighted the achievements of Karate in the state since more than last 33 years.
Both the officials from AKA also informed the Parliamentary Secretary about the hardships faced by the association in sending players to participate in various championships and competitions at regional, national and international level due to lack of timely help from the Authority. They appealed to the Parliamentary Secretary to look into the matter seriously.
Disaster preparedness & developmental activities in Hayuliang circle reviewed
HAYULIANG, May 30: A co-ordination meeting of HoDs, PRI members, Bazar Committee, Army and BROs was held at Hayuliang on Monday to discuss issues on developmental activities and disaster preparedness in Hayuliang circle of Anjaw district.
Chairing the meeting, Hayuliang ADC, Kego Jilen took stock of flood damages in different parts of Hayuliang circle, and directed all the administrative officers of Hayuliang sub-division to remain at their respective posting places and streamline actions against any disasters.
The ADC informed that Hayuliang hospital and Hayuliang Higher Secondary School have been submerged in mud due to heavy landslide. He also informed that ALCs and PWD labours have been engaged to clear the debris.
It was also informed that Khupa circle, where important establishments such as offices of SP, EE Power, EE PWD, AE WRD, DMO, WT stations, petrol depot, and police station are situated is completely cut off from telecom network for the last two months, impeding works in the circle. The BSNL tower working through OFC cable maintained by the defence sector has also been disrupted.
ADC Jilen in the meeting asked the BSNL authorities to keep a provision for installation of satellite tower at Khupa.
Underscoring the importance of maintaining the defence road, Jilen urged the BRO authorities to look in to the maintenance of the existing defence road specially Kiding point to Hawai stating that many streams are left untouched without bailey bridges which reportedly is causing inconvenience to the commuters.
The ADC also asked EE PWD Hayuliang not to delay the construction work of ADC office which was sanctioned two years back. He directed the department concerned to start dismantling the dilapidated structures in the site earmarked for new ADC office for the work to start soon.
The ADC in the meeting also stressed on making Hayuliang one of the cleanest towns in state. He appealed to all the town dwellers and govt. employees to follow Swaach Bharat Abhiyan Mission strictly.
Separate sumo counter, private vehicle parking place and proper places have been earmarked for fish and meat vendors separately apart from main Bazar line, the ADC informed.
Further, the ADC with the team of officials had visited the hospital earlier and was surprised to find that X-Ray, Sonography machines and all required equipments for dental surgeon were lying unused due to non availability of technical experts.
Accordingly, the ADC has appealed the director health service to do the needful and recruit dental surgeon for the same.
6-day training on MVMD guidelines begins

PASIGHAT, May 30: The six-day training for government officials and PRI leaders organised by the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) in collaboration of East Siang district administration commenced at Shikshak Bhavan, Pasighat on Monday.
Speaking in the inaugural session, Deputy Commissioner, Isha Khosla urged the participants to learn about MVMD programme guidelines and exercise it in making development planning of the rural areas. She warned that disciplinary action would be initiated from district administration’s end against those officials, who are found absent in the training programme.
The training programme aims at ‘Comprehensive Gram Panchayat Development Plans’ by the Gram Panchayats pertaining to schedule-I, II and II of Arunachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act, 2007. The authority has directed the panchayat bodies to furnish the development plans as per ‘My Village, My Development” programme guidelines.
Meanwhile, East Siang Deputy Commissioner cum chairman of District Planning Committee has issued notification to all Member Secretaries, and asked them to submit lists of scheme or proposals adopted in Gram Sabha meetings for necessary approval.
‘My Village, My Development’ programme guidelines say that panchayat officials and PRI members should submit Panchayat Development Plans based on situation analysis, participatory rural appraisal and project of flagged development needs.
The training course includes batch-wise household survey, interface meeting with the villagers, resource mapping, and preparation of seasonality calendars etc. Further, arrangement of Gram Sabha at Taki Lalung Model Village, documentation and resource mapping and preparation of need-base schemes would be made as per baseline survey.
SIRD Deputy Director cum Course Coordinator, Dr Rakesk Srivasta and Tamar Baki of East Siang DRDA are conducting the six-day training occasions as master trainers.
East Siang District Open Badminton Championship
PASIGHAT, May 30: Gumjo Lollen and Ingam Potom won the Men and Women’s Single titles respectively in the first East Siang District Badminton Open Championships which concluded at Town Club here on Monday evening.
Men’s Double title was won by the pair of Ajay Singh and Modak Kadu.

Arm wrestler Katu Yomcha wins bronze in national event
ITANAGAR, May 30: Katu Yomcha of West Siang won Bronze Medal in 70kg women category in the 36th National Arm Wrestling Competition held at Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, from May 27 to 29 organized by MP Panja Kusti Association. Dabit Bam was adjudged 4th position in the 75kg men category
The team of 11 participants in the national event was led by Tago Taju, instructor cum national referee.
APJEE results declared
ITANAGAR, May 30: Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Technical Education, a statutory body under the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education has declared the results of the Arunachal Pradesh Joint Entrance Examination (APJEE), 2016 for selection of candidates for various Diploma courses.
Maintaining the tradition of declaring the result of Joint Entrance Examination within the shortest possible time, the results were declared on the same day of examination on May 28.
A total of 1275 candidates appeared in the examination out of the total 1808 applicants, according to an official release.
The results are available in the departmental website - www.apdhte.nic.in /www.apjee.in and www.exametc.com.

PDS contractor donates to CMRF
ITANAGAR, May 30: Former Chairman of Arunachal Pradesh State Rubber Board and the State Level Vigilance Committee of Civil Supply Department, Likha Maj has contributed a sum of Rs 10 Lakhs towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF). He handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakhs to the Chief Minister in Chief Minister’s Office on Monday.
While praising the noble gesture of Maj, Chief Minister Kalikho Pul said that it is for the first time that an individual has voluntarily contributed some amounts towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Student drowns in Senki river
ITANAGAR, May 30: The body of the youth, drowned in the Senki River last afternoon, was fished out from the river today.
The only son of North East Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) deputy registrar Ranjit Mai was drowned in the Senki River last evening when a group of students from the institute had gone for a picnic trip, Capital SP Devender Arya said.
The body of the 18-year-old youth Mai That was retrieved from the river at about 1 AM this morning, he said.
The Camdir Welfare Society (CWS) mourned That's death and said the deceased was a bright student who recently made it through the NERIST entrance exam also.
CWS president Tok Buttum also suggested closure of the famous picnic spot by the administration to avoid further tragedy.
Another youth Jun Gao (20) drowned in Vivek Vihar area here on Saturday, the SP said.
Meanwhile, Governor Jyoti Prasad Rajkhowa has mourned the death of the two youths in the past two days.
Conveying his condolences to the bereaved families, the governor advised that the district authorities, educational institutions and the department of disaster management must create awareness about the danger of rising water in the rivers, lakes and other water bodies due to heavy rainfalls or otherwise in various parts of the state.
He suggested for signboards in the accident prone locations.
The governor also appealed to the parents and guardians to be extra cautious about their wards in weekends and holidays during rainy season, a Raj Bhawan statement said.
Merger claim holds no water: APCC
ITANAGAR, May 30: Reacting to People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA)’s press statement claiming merger of 7 INC ZPMs of Changlang with the party (PPA), Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) in release said that it has already expelled four of them from the primary membership of INC on May 25 for indulging in anti-party activities.
“Since the four ZPMs were already expelled from the party, their any merger claim as stated by the PPA does not arise,” said the APCC release.
Conference cum silver jubilee conducted
PASIGHAT, May 30: With the theme ‘Let God Transform you’ the 32nd youth annual conference cum Silver Jubilee of Baptist Church, Silluk was celebrated by Baptist Council Youth Wing from May 26 to 30 at Baptist Church Silluk. Over 5000 saplings planted
ITANAGAR, May 30: Over 5000 saplings were planted during a two-day long mass social service -cum- tree plantation programme being conducted at Dollungmukh circle by the Dollungmukh Area Youth Association (DAYA) in collaboration with Dollungmukh Swtem Ajen which concluded on Sunday last.
The plantation drive was conducted at various villages including; Rajghar Ali, Bomte, Kherbari, Tanio, Kolaptuker, Midpu, Paro village, Govt. Secondary School Dollungmukh, Govt. M.E School Tanio, Govt. M.E School Paro, Govt. M.E School Kolaptuker. Earlier the programme was inaugurated by Lower Subansiri PHED EE, Kago Habung.

CM announce cash award for Namne Mena
ITANAGAR, May 30: Chief Minister Kalikho Pul on Monday announced cash award of Rs 3 lakh to Namne Mena, winner of National Florence Nightingale Award 2016, in recognition of her immense contribution in public health services during her 22 years of service in the nursing profession.
Health Supervisor (Lady Health Visitor) Mena was conferred National Florence Nightingale Award-- 2016 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India on the occasion of International Nurses Day on May 12, 2016. She received the award from the President of India.
“As a health care provider, Mena has risked her life many a times for serving people with no access to medical aid providers, often walking miles without food or rest, climbing hills, crossing rivers and forests and even facing wild animals – all this to serve people living at the farther most ends of the region.”
“Her dedication and caring attitude is well evidenced by the care she gives to the sick, visiting their homes and spending time with people in pain and giving them the hope. She also conducts meetings for adolescents and women on various health related issues.”
The Chief Minister called upon other health workers to emulate the example set by her for further strengthening the healthcare systems in the state.
ANSU provides relief to Seppa fire victims
ITANAGAR, May 30: A team of All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) led by its general secretary Nyanya Gollo visited the fire victims of ALC Line, Seppa and distributed relief materials to them on May 29.
After fire destroyed their homes on May 20, the victims are still homeless, ANSU informed. The students’ union strongly urged the state government to immediately construct the damaged government quarters and provide special package for quick rehabilitation of the fire victims.
Rebia takes stock of developmental activities in Sangdupota circle
BEYSERNALLO, May 30: Doimukh MLA Nabam Rebia on Monday visited Sangdupota circle to oversee the various developmental activities taking place in the circle.
Accompanied by all head of departments of Papum Pare, Rebia inspected the ongoing construction works of RCC Bridge over Papum River at Byate which will serve as lifeline for people living in border areas and neighbouring East Kameng. He also enquired on delay of construction works with executing agency and asked them to expedite the work while strictly maintaining the quality of work.
Rebia inaugurated an Inspection Bunglow at Sangdupota and requested the people to take proper care of public property.

Underscoring the tourism potential of the area, Rebia reiterated that Sangdupota circle area is one of the most beautiful and picturesque areas of Papum Pare District with huge potential for tourism development and informed that the confluence of Papum and Poma river have been already sanctioned by the Govt to be developed as eco tourism spot to promote adventurous sports like river rafting and other recreation activities.
He further instructed the District Tourism Officer to discuss the various parameters with engineering wing of the department and also urged upon the public to give full support on such ventures.

ITANAGAR, May 30: The West Siang District Adi Student Union (WS AdiSU) has demanded the West Siang Deputy Commissioner to immediately transfer EAC-cum-BDO Manigong and Pidi Block from his current posting place for allegedly not cooperating with the public of area in various developmental related schemes and mismanagement of public fund.
In its letter to the DC, the student body claimed that the EAC-cum-BDO allegedly involved in mismanagement of public fund of Monigong and Pidi Block under MGNREGA and FFC schemes.
The Union also demanded the DC to conduct re-enquiry into the alleged physical assault on one Tajen Pujen, GB Sukudom on 21st May in 2010. It claimed that an FIR was already lodged at Mechukha Police Station and ADC Mechukha, but till date no action has been taken against him.
Vacancies filled
ITANAGAR, May 30: Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker has appointed Bomdila MLA Japu Deru as the member of privilege committee while Thrizino-Buragaon MLA Kumsi Sidisow has been made the member of committee on absence of members from the sitting of the house.
The casual vacancies were caused due to appointment of MLAs Tsering Tashi and Tirong Aboh as parliamentary secretaries.
Memo submitted
ITANAGAR, May 30: The Arunachal Pradesh Democracy & Anti-Corruption People’s Forum (APD&ACPF) has on Monday submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister Kalikho Pul demanding streamlining of tendering process under various schemes in the education department, placement of trainees under skill development schemes for gainful employment besides, maintaining transparency in bureaucratic reshuffling and reverting of functional and officiating officers.
Stating that Chief Minister Kalikho Pul had alleged the former CM Nabam Tuki of misappropriating public money amounting to crores, the Forum further wanted to know the status of actions initiated by the present government on the issue so far.
It has further sought fulfillment of its demands within 15 days and threatened to resort to democratic movement in case its demands are not met within stipulated time.
DDMA starts trimming and felling of age-old trees
AALO, May 30: West Siang District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has started trimming and felling down of old trees at Aalo town, which have outlived their usefulness.
Few trees that were standing dangerously at DC office compound were felled on Sunday.
West Siang Deputy Commissioner Pige Ligu has directed DDMO and Forest Department to identify all such dangerously located trees, which are at the risk of falling during heavy rain and strong wind.
The drive was necessitated after several huge trees were uprooted in front of Aalo Police Station and various other locations.
The departments, public and all organizations have also been intimated to locate such vulnerable tress for felling and arrangement for new plantations. DIPRO
GoAP urged to provide financial support to Miss Earth India -2016 finalist
ITANAGAR, May 30: The Adi Student' Union has on Monday appealed to the GoAP to provide financial support to Miss Chum Darang, the finalist of Miss Earth India-2016 beauty pageant.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, the Union said that since Darang is the only girl from Arunachal who is representing the state in such an event, the GoAP should provide all possible support to her.
Miss Earth India, which is a beauty pageant with a cause and responsibility, is driven by an ultimate aim to enhance our awareness and sustainable development on the environmental crisis and challenges. Every year, 4 winners will be crowned as the following representative elements: Earth, Air, Water and Fire to promote environmental awareness. The winner of the earth element would represent as Miss Earth India to compete in the international platform.

Miles to go for Indian Railways
Ever since assuming office Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given top priority to revamping the ailing Indian railways. Modi handpicked railway minister Suresh Prabhu to implement his vision of transforming the railway. Though two years have passed but not much change has been witnessed. It is quite natural that slow progress is deeply annoying PM Modi. Yesterday while reviewing the progress in key infrastructure sectors of railways and roads, PM emphasized on the need for the railways to upgrade and diversify the usage of its infrastructure.
He also stressed upon the need to speed up the redevelopment of Railway Stations.
In the last financial year, the capital investment has massively increased. It is
expected that with private companies showing interest, in coming year more money
will flow into this sector. Modi government is also pushing hard for high-

Alcohol and laws
Dear Editor,
If any individual wants to be a teetotaler, it is his/her own
individual choice, the way an individual view the world through the prism of personal conscience will be diverse in nature, as very nature of human being is a complex subject which is yet to be demystified.
Giving patronage to implement a law in a democratic country and a motley society which prohibits an individual from consuming alcohol is unjustified and vague.
It is evident that many choose to take shelter of religion to stay sober instead of relying on one's mental endurance.
I have come to know that many pseudo empowered people of my state are trying to make Arunachal Pradesh "a dry state” on the pretext of growing indulgence of youth and alcohol. While many groups are taking advantage of it by promoting foreign religion to clear the social menace. They must acknowledge that there are many Western country infested by drug and alcohol, though being home to highest religious institution.
Embracing any foreign religion in order to stay sober exhibit how submissive and vulnerable we Arunachalee are.
So, instead of banning alcohol, government can set concrete guidelines for all the
wine shop and Bar owner in the state, by defining certain age limit for the consumers,

Turn assurances into action
Dear Editor,
After the withdrawal of May 23rd Dharna by AASSATA ,CEC without getting any concrete result from govt, many questions remains unanswered. Now it looks like that teachers participated in peace rally organized by AASATA , CEC only for assurance which we have been getting from many chief ministers that have ruled the state.
It was first mega rally of SSA teachers in which teachers from every corner of state supported by participating in huge numbers including lady teachers, carrying their infant children on their back.
But it seems everything has gone in vain as our demand has not been fulfilled so far. Three months salary whose release order was announced two months back is yet to be released. At least pending salary should have been released.
Hope that AASSATA has plan–B if assurance does not turn into action.

Dear Editor,
The number of Arunachale patients attending NEIGRIHMS outpatient department makes a significant proportion of the total patients and it keeps increasing. It was witnessed by Chief minister, Kalikho Pul, when he visited NEIGRIHMS. It depicted the lack of medical infrastructure in our state in dealing with such cases even when the treating doctors of those cases were from our own state.
After we interacted with the chief minister and seeing his vision, stamina and zeal to improve the services in Arunchal , we are filled with hope and aspiration that now it is possible that we too will have quality medical facilities in our state, even better if a medical college is established.
So we would like to request people in Arunachal to please press for this basic but important service which we lack in our state and extend all help needed as we don't know when we will get such a conducive atmosphere again.

This is in response to Monday Musing on rising motor vehicular accidents.
In our state, owning vehicles and driving them recklessly has become our habits. A person should have good source of income and then good houses, then only car should be purchased. But here even the people who got zero asset purchase cars anyway and show off them in the road by driving recklessly. Showoff cultures are shame on us.
